2009 Bead Challenge

Put That Project on Steroids!

You must be a member of the Indiana Bead Society to enter.

The Challenge:

Make a beaded piece that is all your own based on one of the IBS meeting projects, a Spring Workshop project or a Visiting Artist project sponsored by the Indiana Bead Society during 2008 and 2009. Listed below are projects offered to the members of the Indiana Bead Society over the past two years. Choose one project or combine several to make a piece Libarace or Birdman (depending on your generation) would be proud to wear. Change the materials used, the scale of the piece, the complexity, the size, or whatever … Your finished work must be substantially different from the project that was taught. Just changing the color will not cut it. Kick it up a notch! You must label your submission with a title and list the project(s) referenced in its creation.

Deadline

Judging and voting will be done at our December 16th Holiday Party meeting.

There will be four prizes awarded:

1. Best Interpretation of the Theme – There will be one judge for this category. First prize will be free tuition to an IBS Visiting Artist Workshop class.

2. Emeril Would Be Proud – You really put the BAM! into this one. A team of judges will award a prize appropriate to the category.

3. Really Outside the Box – Your imagination will be rewarded by a tribunal. A prize appropriate to the category will be determined later.

4. Peoples Choice – The popular vote of the members present will determine the winner. Third prize will be tuition for one class at the IBS Spring Workshop 2009.
