Agnieszka Watts will be the IBS Visiting Artist this October 4th – 6th.

She is a native of Poland where she completed professional fashion design school and now lives in Illinois. She uses many techinques in her artwork including bead stitching, bead weaving, bead embroidery, wirework, macramé and soutache work. She has been an Illinois Artisan since 2017. She has won several Fire Mountain Gems contest prizes, has been honored by Toho Beads and she was a Beadwork Magazine designer of the year. Agnieszka is passionate about beading as well as educating, inspiring, and motivating others to find their own creativity.

This pendant is composed of three separate components beaded mostly with diagonal peyote stitch and herrigbone stitch.

This is a wonderful example of how dimensional and exciting beadwork can be and how beautiful shapes can be created using cylinder seed beads

This bracelet consists of the rectangular-shaped components that are double-layered. The layers are connected with right angle weave stitch on the edges. The flexible, tube-shaped links between components are made with an odd count peyote stitch. On top of each link there is a round rivoli crystal enclosed in a square box making the crystal appear square-shaped.

The custom made clasp looks like one of the links and hides the closure. The center decorative component creates additional level in this project.

This stunning bracelet is both gentle and feminine with bold Swarovski crystals surrounded by beautiful pearls.
