Come join us for a day of beading with friends, food and fun. Learn a new skill, brush up on ones you already know and end up with great projects and/or gifts and renewed skills! Beginners are always welcome!

This Fall Workshop includes four fun-filled projects from which to choose: with two All Day classes, one morning classes and one additional afternoon class, there is something for everyone. The total cost for each class includes the class fee – ($45 per half-day class and $80 for all-day classes), plus the instructor kit fee*. There is a 2-student minimum to hold any class.

**Additional kits may be available for purchase at the discretion of individual instructors. Check with individual instructors prior to the workshop to purchase additional class kits.

The workshop welcomes members of the Indiana Bead Society as well as the public on a first-come first-serve basis. If you are not a member, we welcome you to attend and encourage you to become a member.

Please register by October 1, 2026, to allow our instructors time to prepare kit supplies. Late applications will need approval of the individual instructor.

Herringbone Wire Wrap Jewelry Set – Vicki Hoffman

Project Description:

This project will teach you the skills needed to create multiple pieces of jewelry using the Herringbone wire weave, a centuries-old technique that can be used to create striking pieces ranging from earrings and necklaces to bracelets and rings.

We will create components using wire and a variety of semi-precious gemstone sets, then assemble them into a matching necklace and earrings. You will also create a Figure-8 chain with a hook-and-loop closure, allowing you to personalize your finished pieces and make them uniquely your own.

Techniques Included:
Design
Creating a Herringbone wire pattern
Constructing a Figure-8 chain
Creating a hook-and-loop closure

Tools to Bring:
Bead mat
Magnification and lighting, if needed
Round-nose pliers
Chain-nose pliers
Flat-nose pliers
Wire cutters

Don’t have the necessary tools?

Let the instructor know, and we’ll be happy to lend you the tools needed for class. Borrowed tools must be returned to the instructor at the end of class.

“Shrink and Scrunch”
Creating “Parts” with Tyvex and Shrink Plastic

Project Description:
Join two instructors to make “parts” for future projects! Items can be used for bead embroidery, pendants or brooches. This will be a mixed class, as you will be working on both techniques at the same time

Painting
Shrinking using a heat gun for Tyvek and Shrink Plastic

Materials Provided:
Tyvek material
Shrink art material.

Tools required:

Please bring your own Prisma color pencils or colored sharpies, if you have them.

Project Description:

Create a beautiful statement bracelet featuring intricate geometric bead embroidery, shimmering accents, and a touch of vintage-inspired elegance. In this class, you’ll learn how to create the bracelet’s unique components and bring them together into a stunning, dimensional design.

Participants will have the opportunity to choose from several different focal designs, allowing you to personalize your bracelet and make it uniquely your own. The finished bracelet is completed with a convenient magnetic clasp for easy wear.

This class is perfect for beaders who enjoy detailed beadwork, beautiful color combinations, and creating a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art.
