Come join us for a day of beading with friends, food and fun. Learn a new skill, brush up on ones you already know and end up with great projects and/or gifts and renewed skills! Beginners are always welcome!

This Spring Workshop includes six fun-filled projects from which to choose: with three All Day classes, two morning classes and one additional afternoon class, there is something for everyone. The total cost for each class includes the class fee – ($45 per half-day class and $90 for all-day classes), plus the instructor kit fee*. There is a 2-student minimum to hold any class.

**Additional kits may be available for purchase at the discretion of individual instructors. Check with individual instructors prior to the workshop to purchase additional class kits.

Bead Prizes will be awarded during lunch and throughout the afternoon. You must be present to win.

The workshop welcomes members of the Indiana Bead Society as well as the public on a first-come first-serve basis. If you are not a member, we welcome you to attend and encourage you to become a member.

Please register by April 3, 2026, to allow our instructors time to prepare kit supplies. Late applications will need approval of the individual instructor.

“Nomad” – A Bead Embroidered Necklace – Lisa Bowling

Skill Level – Intermediate – Class Size – No limit

Create your own statement piece in this inspiring jewelry-making class where bohemian flair meets precision beadwork. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to craft a stunning pendant necklace using the peyote stitch bezel technique to securely frame a large focal cabochon, giving your piece a professional, dimensional finish.

The design incorporates a variety of shaped beads—including seed beads, fire-polished rounds, and accent components—that add rich texture and a layered, artisanal look. You’ll also explore creative assembly techniques, including integrating chain, rings, and drops to bring movement and balance to your design.

In this class, you will:

· Learn how to bezel a cabochon using even-count peyote stitch;

· Work with shaped beads to add structure and detail;

· Assemble and layer components into a striking pendant necklace;

· Customize your design with chain choices, bead colors, and unique elements;

· Leave with a beautiful boho-style necklace that’s uniquely yours;

Skill Level: Intermediate (basic bead weaving knowledge helpful) Duration: 3–6 hours

Materials Provided: Cabochons, seed beads, shaped beads, backing, chain, findings

Whether you’re a bead weaving enthusiast or a boho jewelry lover, this class offers the perfect mix of technique, creativity, and personal expression. Two additional colorways will be available.

Tools required: Bead mat, scissors, 6lb Fireline, size 12 beading needles, magnification if required.

All Day Class (9:00 am – 4:30 pm)

Fall Flower Garden Bracelet and Earrings – Vicki Hoffman

    Skill Level – All Levels – Class Size – 7-10

   Kit Fee = $50 – Class Fee = $90

               Total Cost = $140

This lightweight, yet bold set uses both multi-hole shaped beads along with seed beads to create this beautiful earring and bracelet set. The bracelet pattern can also be used to create a choker-style necklace (you determine the length by the number of components and spacer beads added. There will be two colorways for this set.

Tools required: Size 10/12 beading needles, 6lb Fireline (smoke color), scissors, bead mat, optional light and magnification as needed.

Techniques included in the project: Working with multi-hole shaped beads and seed beads, this pattern demonstrates how to create each piece in a logical flow, from the structural layout to adding embellishments, while reinforcing each section for durability. You will learn to use wire guards with thread for creating a hanging earring, as well as how to create a simple peyote stitch clasp including weaving embellishments into the clasp.

Needle Felting with Beads – Chris Baker

Skill Level – Beginner – Class Size – 6

Kit Fee = $22 + Class Fee = $90

Total Cost = $112

This is a unique class where you will learn to construct a needle felted ornament or pendant using wool roving and miscellaneous accent beads and metal ring or wire wrapped ring that you shape. No two pieces will be alike. Each person will select their pieces individually from instructor’s stash!

Techniques included in the project:   Design, Needle felting with pieces of wool; bead embroidery, simple wire wrapping of loop as time allows..

Tools to bring: Bead thread or flex line if you prefer (crystal color),  scissors, Beading needles, bead mat, magnification and lighting if needed.

Fan Dancer Pendant – Francie Broadie

Skill Level – All Levels – Class Size – 15

Kit Fee = $35 + Class Fee = $45

   Total Cost = $80

Brush up on your Brick stitch skills with this fan-tastic pendant! The fan shape is created by increasing on each row. Kits will be offered in multiple colorways from WILD to Mild.

Techniques included in the project:  Brick Stitch and Peyote Stitch.

Tools to bring:  Beading needles, scissors, magnification if needed, lighting if needed, bead mat and imagination!

Afternoon Classes – 1:00pm – 4:00pm

Caged Beauties Necklace

 Skill Level – Beginner to All Levels  – Class Size – 7

Kit Fee  = $15 – Class Fee =  $45

 Total Cost = $60

In this project, a group of larger beads is “caged” by a sequence of smaller beads in a repeating pattern. This makes it a perfect project for beginning as well as seasoned bead enthusiasts, and a great way to learn a variety of beading techniques. The kit consists of Size 6/0 and 11/0 seed beads of contrasting colors. We will also discuss a wide variety of modifications that can be applied to make use of the pattern in other projects. The necklace is not likely be completed in class.

Techniques included in project:  Bead string/weaving; following a beading pattern; adding thread to a lengthen a project; adding a button closure to the necklace, modifications to a pattern to make a design your own.

Tools needed:   Beading needle – Size 10-12; 6lb Fireline; scissors; bead mat, lighting and/or magnification as needed.

Storytime Pendant – Francie Broadie

Skill Level – All Levels – Class Size – 10

At what point do fabric scraps become something new? When you learn how to transfer images onto fabric – which can add a personal touch to your jewelry and opens all sorts of design possibilities!

Kits will contain pre-transferred fabric in addition to fabric and beads for a completed necklace. We will also learn several ways to add color and texture to your designs.

Tools:  Students should bring size 10 beading needles, 6lb Fireline, scissors, and a beading surface.
