For this project you will need:
A small embroidery hoop 4-6 inches
Non- stretchy cotton fabric -muslin, broadcloth, could even be an old woven shirt. Solid colors best. 7x7 or 8x8 inch piece.
Embroidery Needle
Beading needle
Embroidery floss
Nylon Beading thread Nymo, C-lon or Silamide
Assortment of seed beads -leftovers from other projects work great here. Some of each size would be great.
Sequins
Small beads
optional: Disappearing ink pen or Frixxion pen.
I know the list seems long, but most things you should already have on hand. Small embroidery hoops can be found at JoAnns and Michaels. If you have trouble finding one, contact Francie, she has lots.
The goal here is really to play and try out different textures and techniques. If you don't have a particular ingredient, aside from the fabric and needles which are kind of important..., don't stress.
For now you can ponder some ideas. Maybe you want to explore colors, bubbles, flowers, waves, stripes... You don't have to be a great artist to get great results. Looking forward to seeing everyone on June 15th. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Francie at fab@franciebroadie.com. |
